 WLPV is a family run business that started as a small paint manufactures in 1997 in a Rented Farm building in Rufford Lancashire. We had one floor mounted mixing machine which one of the brothers Made from a second hand motor and some scrap metal Donated by our farmer landlord.
We started manufacturing Shed and Fence treatment and filled them of into plain white buckets with a simple brown label advertising Brown Shed & Fence Treatment which we sold to local farmers and market Traders.Soon after we got a little creative and added 3 more colours to our range. The two eldest brothers used to make The products one day and the next day deliver, the two younger brothers use to help out after school filling off the paint and Labelling the buckets.As soon as the younger brothers finished school they Then joined the business.
By this time our little unit was very Cramped And we applied to the local authority for planning consent
to expand Into the next unit for manufacturing of paints which was Granted by this time we were in full time manufacturing of emulsion Paints and glosses but as we realized when you manufacture products You do have some degree of waste and problems but as we were small Company we could not afford to pay costly waste bills so we found it very easy to Rework most if not all products into different process
so if we Had problems then other large manufactures must have larger problems so The paint recycling/ reworking was born soon after paint recycling/reworking was a Very large part of the business sp Much so we had to move into a 20000sq st warehouse at near by Moss Lane,Burscough we soon out Grew this warehouse we then had to move to Martland Mill which was a 80000sq ft again in
nearby Burscough.
Shortly after moving to MartlaneThe logistics side of the business was born we opened a
storage and distribution depot Offering many services to the retail sector i.e.: storage, distribution, relabling And repacking work and retail uplift work to the major retailers. In 1999 we left our Rufford Paint Plant and moved to our new site in Skelmersdale With a vast increase in manufacturing and recycling/reworking paint and paint Related products we do this work for the paint manufactures in the
UK and the EU we also deal in redundant / off spec raw materials WLPV can rework 80000litres per week and these products were destine for landfill sites here in the UK and Europe. We feel that WLPV are not just providing a service but also offering invaluable Help to prevent pollution to our planet.
